New Family Law Initiative
The Federal Government recently announced an initiative directed at addressing the empowerment of parents to resolve family law disputes without resorting to litigation and use of the court system.
The government’s new publication ‘Parenting Orders: What you need to know’ developed by family law expert Professor Richard Chisholm AM is designed to assist parents going through separation, legal practitioners and other professionals involved within the family law system.
This resource has been developed in an effort to provide clear and practical parenting orders but above all else, to assist all stakeholders to focus on the best interests of children.
The government also released the Family Law Council’s final report on ‘Families with complex needs and the intersection of Family Law and Child Protection Systems’. This report identifies solutions of the challenges facing Australians involved in the family law and child protection systems.
At Michael Lynch Family Lawyers we always consider and advise our clients on these non-litigious approaches to family law matters, not only involving parenting but also property and financial settlements, when giving advice to our clients.
