Who can apply for a DVO?
Who can apply for a DVO?
To obtain a DVO, the victim must have been in a ‘relevant relationship’ with the perpetrator (referred to as the “respondent”). A ‘relevant relationship’ is an intimate personal relationship (which includes a spousal relationship, an engagement relationship or a couple relationship), a family relationship (i.e. relatives) or an informal care relationship (a non-commercial care arrangement).
